Mallory Prater
I'm Mallory Prater, and I'm a sophomore at Arizona State University in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I'm majoring in journalism and mass communication with a focus in public relations and minoring in design studies. After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in fashion PR or in another sector of the PR or fashion industries. I currently work at Urban Outfitters and am a photo contributor for Urban Outfitters Arizona's Instagram page, @uoarizona. This summer I will be working at the company's home office in Philadelphia as a styling intern. In my spare time I love taking photos with one of my several film cameras, wandering around the Phoenix Art Museum, and exploring downtown Phoenix. I have always had a strong appreciation of the character murals bring to a city, and loved exploring that through this project.

Jade YebanMy name is Jade Nicole Yeban and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. I am a honors student at Arizona State University as a journalism major and political science minor. I plan to attend law school after obtaining my master's from ASU. While I love reporting on various topics, I hope to focus on politics in the future as a political analyst or legal journalist. I am currently a political reporting intern at the Arizona Republic. In my free time, I love to read and explore Downtown Phoenix. My favorite spot Downtown is Roosevelt Row! There are so many murals on that street and I hope that if you are Phoenix resident, you make the time to go out and explore the murals there, too.

Being a student from the UK at ASU’s Walter Cronkite School pursuing my bachelors in Journalism & Mass Communication, I have discovered a new passion for the murals throughout the downtown Phoenix area. Almost everywhere I look, there’s so much color and life from the murals; it adds a unique flavor to Phoenix that can’t be found in just any old place. I am currently an intern for a new online organization, Student Blend, as a weekly fashion reporter. I also work as a copy editor for ASU’s State Press. |
CiCi McAllister
Hello, I am CiCi McAllister and I am a freshman journalism major at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass communication with a minor in graphic design. I am originally from Grand Ledge, Michigan and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue my dream career of being a journalist at Arizona State University. I found my passion for journalism and design when I was a freshman in high school at Grand Ledge High School. I became a staff member for the newspaper program my school offered and immediately fell became passionate about reporting and creating news spreads. By the time I was a senior in high school, I applied to colleges with well-renowned journalism programs. The Walter Cronkite school is nationally ranked and has some of the best reviews, so making the decision to go there was a very easy decision. In regards to what I want to do when I graduate college, I want to pursue a career in entertainment journalism. I am very interested in reporting events, fashion and trends. With the “PHX Murals” project I wrote two articles about students’ perceptions, filmed and edited a video and monitored the Instagram account. My interest in entertainment and art fueled my passion for this project. It is definitely something I am proud of! |
